One Harry Potter fan may have discovered a 'plot hole' after questioning some 'missing dates' in the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Fans were confused over an 'inconsistency' in the date Harry was dropped off at the Dursleys after his parents - Lily and James Potter - were killed.

Taking to TikTok, the fan - who goes by the name of @captainfizman - posted the video online, questioning a very specific detail.

You can watch the video below:

Fans were wondering what Harry had been up to in the two days between his parents being killed, and arriving at the Dursleys' home.

One fan wrote: "Hagrid took him back to his cottage and tried to hide him so Hagrid could keep him."

While another theorised: "It took that long to find a living relative and McGonagall was trying to convince everyone to let her keep him."

And another wrote: "First day hospital, second day funeral and then he got sent maybe."

And a fourth added: "I think I remember reading or hearing that they had to convince the Dursleys to take Harry to begin with because they wanted nothing to do with magic."

And another mega fan said: "I pointed this out to my family because the book says he was dropped off on a Tuesday but oct. 31 of 1989 was a Saturday."

Another suggested he could have been at his parents' funeral, which we'd never thought of.

Others assumed that Harry had been dropped off on the 1st, but one fan explained: "The opening chapter of the book mentions 'the dull, grey Tuesday our story starts'" - pointing out that the Tuesday in that particular year was the third of the month.

Other TikTokers offered their own suggestions (

"Rushing to the book to see if it was the third. I always assumed the 1st," said one.

Hmmm, what do you think?
