Don’t get us wrong, we love Grey’s Anatomy – but we’re not blind to all its flaws either (and there really are a lot of flaws).

One of the biggest and most cringe mistakes the series ever made? Well, according to the good people of Twitter, Grey’s Anatomy’s musical episode is certainly up there.

Titled ‘Song Beneath The Song’ or ‘Grey’s Anatomy: The Musical Event’, the musical episode aired in 2011 and focuses on Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw), just after they’re involved in a car crash.

Popular songs such as Snow Patrol’s 'Chasing Cars', and The Fray’s 'How To Save A Life', were performed by the cast.

And while the idea sounds quaint, fans of the medical series were not a fan of its musical episode, and are now reminiscing about the episode online.

Talk of Grey’s Anatomy musical episode resurfaced online after one person took to Twitter lamenting when TV shows decide to a musical special.

People were debating musical episodes (

“Has anyone sincerely thought ‘oh, good a musical episode’ when watching a non-musical show?” one person asked, which saw Grey’s Anatomy fans jump on.

“The musical episode of greys anatomy is literally one of the worst pieces of art to ever exist,” one person wrote in agreement.

“The Grey’s Anatomy musical episode was awful,” a second said.

A third enthusiastic fan agreed: “No bc when that whack ass musical episode showed up in Greys Anatomy I wanted to fight the producers.”

“The random musical episode in Greys for Callie's accident literally makes me so f***ing mad,” a fourth fumed, and a fifth said: “That musical episode of Greys Anatomy made me want to rip my ears off and throw them at the director for being stupid.”

Some people said the episode was so bad it made them want to 'fight' (

However, not everyone absolutely hates the musical episode of Grey’s Anatomy, with some fans unabashedly admitting they enjoyed the one-off special.

“Sorry to be that person but I unironically stan the greys musical episode so yes me,” one person said.

Some people admitted to liking the episode (
Twitter)

“No lie. I like the musical episode of Grey’s Anatomy,” said a second unashamed fan.

Undeniably the marmite of the TV world, the musical episode of Grey’s Anatomy certainly left a legacy – whether you loved it or hated it.
