Gogglebox couple Mica and Marcus have announced that they're quitting the hugely popular show and moving on after five years of us watching them watch TV.

The couple released a statement explaining their decision to move on from Gogglebox after spending half a decade with the show.

Fans of the show have been able to enjoy years of their own personal style of critiquing the TV we watch as they perch on their sofa and offer up their opinions.

Audiences have just as much fun getting to know and watch the families on Gogglebox as they do keeping up with the shows that make it onto the Channel 4 series.

Sadly it's the way of the show for popular figures to come and go as the show's roster of TV watchers is often updated with fresh faces to make up for the departure of those who've left the show.

Mica and Marcus have been regular fixtures on Gogglebox for five years now and decided it was time to move on and see what happens in the future.

The couple took to Instagram to thank everyone for watching them on the show.

They posted on Instagram to confirm the news of their departure, which will come as sad news to fans of the show who've loved seeing the couple's reactions.

They said: "We just want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to @c4Gogglebox for having us for the last 5 years, even though we had to travel so far for filming (downstairs & through the corridor) it was so worth it, it's been an epic journey! You guys are the bestest of the best.

"We've had so much fun with you all tuning in at home and the hardworking Gogglebox crew but it’s time to put down the remote and see what else God has in store for us.

"To everyone that has tuned in & sent us messages of love and encouragement over the years, we appreciate every last one of you. Thank you so much. To the amazing cast, you'll forever be our G'box brothers & sisters 4life."

Their fellow Gogglebox stars sent their tributes to the couple, saying they'd miss Mica and Marcus while wishing them all the best for the future.

Plenty of fans also wished the couple well and being sorry to see them go as they 'absolutely adore you two'.

Others said they hoped Marcus and Mica 'could get your own show' and were excited to see what they'd do next.

Someone else said they 'will not settle until I find that big Meesh and Marky kind of love', and let's be honest when they were on Gogglebox they really did look like couple goals.

Maybe now they'll be looking for future stars to take their place on Gogglebox, it could even be you.
