A brand-new Original limited series is coming to Disney+ and it might just surprise you!

Inspired by true events, “Welcome to Chippendales” tells the outrageous story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, an Indian immigrant who became the unlikely founder of the world’s greatest male-stripping empire.

The series follows Banerjee as he sets about transforming his failing backgammon club into the hottest nightclub in LA after realising that female sexual desire is something that can be monetised. There were millions of strip clubs for men, but not a single one for women. Who knew women also got horny?!

As you’d expect, it highlights the glitz and glamour but also the darker side of creating the first mainstream male-stripping club.

The show features some seriously big-name talent with Kumail Nanjiani taking on the starring role alongside Murray Bartlett and Annaleigh Ashford with support from Juliette Lewis, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Dan Stevens and Quentin Plair.

It’s a hard-hitting and serious crime drama which is something you might not expect to find on Disney+ but the streaming platform is constantly surprising us with its range of content. We’re not sure how explicit the show is but it’s rated 18+ so it won’t be too tame!

Having already streamed in the US, people are raving about the retro 70s and 80s inspired soundtrack as well as the shocking twists you definitely won’t see coming.

UK viewers will be able to stream episodes from 11th January and the best bit is that all 8 episodes will be available at once so you can binge to your heart’s content! It’s the perfect gritty show to get stuck into after the festive period is over.

If you’re itching to get stuck into a new true crime show and you quite fancy the idea of men with their clothes off, “Welcome to Chippendales” definitely needs to be on your must-watch list!
