Black Mirror has just released an unbelievable first full trailer for the upcoming sixth season.

The sixth season of Charlie Brooker’s iconic dystopian series is set to make an exciting return with five ground-breaking new stories.

The latest series will hit the streaming platform later next month (15 June).

Black Mirror first hit our screens back in 2011 and has since gone on to provide its loyal fanbase with five award-winning seasons with an exciting new season just a matter of weeks away now after a mammoth four-year wait.

Streaming giant Netflix has reported that the upcoming season will be 'the most unpredictable season yet' packed to the brim with Brooker's signature 'wild and weird' style.

While it's nothing new that the hit dystopian series is well-known now for dark, eerie and downright freaky subject matter, Brooker has since told Tudum that he even surprised himself with the latest instalment.

"I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people — and myself — or else what’s the point? It should be a series that can’t be easily defined, and can keep reinventing itself," the writer, creator and executive producer said.

Brooker continued: "Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect.

"Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is."

Sounds exciting.

While he's clearly trying out some new ideas, Brooker assures die-hard fans that the stories are all still 'tonally Black Mirror through-and-through' but with 'some crazy swings and more variety than ever before'.

And there 'variety' doesn't stop there as we will be seeing a whole host of Hollywood A-listers grace our screens in the new season.

Such stars include Aaron Paul, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault and Zazie Beetz.

Brooker added: "Bringing it all to life we’ve got an incredible roster of disgustingly skillful, smart directors working with a cast of actors so talented they frankly have no right to exist."

The latest series of Black Mirror will be available to stream on Netflix on 15 June.
