Ant and Dec have opened up on how 'difficult' it was having Matt Hancock on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The former Health Secretary entered the Australian jungle last year and many viewers dubbed his inclusion as controversial.

Hancock's role throughout the Covid-19 pandemic has been highly documented and criticised - but 12 months on, the disgraced MP switched politics to instead munch on a camel's penis and sheep vagina on national TV.

Despite making it all the way to the final, only to lose out to winner Jill Scott, hosts Ant and Dec have finally shared their feelings towards Hancock and his appearance on the reality show.

"I think it’s very difficult not to [feel that way]," Dec told the Huffington Post in an exclusive interview.

"We were all affected by decisions that he made and situations he created, so it was very, very difficult. But we tried incredibly hard to be impartial and to put that to one side. And I hope we did it."

Ant also told the publication that Hancock wasn't the only contestant who came on the show with some sort of 'baggage', adding: "It doesn’t matter who you are. Boy George did [have baggage]. Matt Hancock did.

"Probably all of the campmates [last] year came with a history.

"But once they’re in there, they’re campmates, so we have to treat them like campmates, and let them tell their stories."

Ant then added: "We tried to be as fair, and as even, as possible to all of them."

Hancock's most memorable moments on the show certainly came from him being voted time and time again to take part in many Bushtucker trials - but one has certainly remained firmly stuck viewer's minds.

In the stomach-churning trial, the MP was firstly given a fish eye taco to scran on, shortly followed by a glass of blended worms.

His third 'meal' was a camel's penis, to which he described as 'soft and crunchy at the same time'.

It didn't stop there, though, as next came a sheep's vagina, followed by a cow's anus.

Surprisingly, Hancock breezed through each challenge, one by one. Perhaps his hefty £320,000 payday made it all worth it?

Viewers were loving the scenes, with one person tweeting: "What a better way to spend a Friday night watching Matt Hancock eating some penis and vagina."

A second person said: "Matt Hancock eating a penis, Boy George cracking jokes whilst Ant and Dec behave ridiculously silly.

"This trial is everything we could ever want and more."

"Great day for everyone seeing matt Hancock eat a camel’s penis and a sheep’s vagina," a third viewer added.
