With nearly two years worth of lockdowns meaning we were forced to stay in boring old Blightly every summer, we’re desperate to a holiday this summer.

And it looks as if we’re heading Stateside, as a budget airline is offering dirt cheap holidays from London to New York City.

Iceland’s newest low-cost airline, PLAY, has proudly announced its its newest route between London and New York Stewart International Airport, with a brief stopover in Reykjavik, for as little as £159 one-way.

Bargain, much?

The flights will depart from London four times a week, with the first flights getting ready for take off on 10th June 2022.

And if you fancy saving some dosh (and having even more dollars to spend in the Big Apple) PLAY is offering a special introductory rate until midnight on 7 February 2022 of £139 on flights departing from London Stansted, making a trip to New York even more affordable.

Speaking about their bargain prices, PLAY CEO Birgir Jónsson explained: “After we learnt of the surge in the area surrounding New York Stewart and the benefits it offers, we did not hesitate in snapping up the chance to operate from this airport.

“New York is a critical location for both European tourists looking to explore Manhattan, and American travellers heading to the 22 destinations we fly to including Iceland, Paris, Dublin, and more. The low fares and flexibility that passengers experience at Stewart International Airport are exactly what passengers seek when they book their travel with PLAY.

“We anticipate strong bookings in 2022, and with New York as our third U.S. destination, PLAY passengers will have more choices when booking last-minute trips, work-cations, and spontaneous adventures.”
