Woman stunned as builders go to wrong house and renovate her kitchen after she left door unlocked

Chloe Fountain claims builders have turned up at her house by mistake to do renovations twice

Imagine the pure randomness of returning home to find a group of builders tearing apart your house.

Chloe Fountain, from Detroit, was baffled at how the same 'mistake' had happened again as she recently came home to a group of builders doing renovations in her kitchen, unannounced.

She claimed a similar incident also took place last year when builders were getting to work in her garden.

Watch below:

"Why does it keep happening? Workers came to the wrong house again," Chloe said in a now-viral social media post, which was posted last year.

She found four builders in her kitchen drilling on the worktops.

"Yo you've got the wrong house!" she yells over the loud drilling noise.

"One of the guys is now talking to his boss. I guess now I have f***ing granite (in my kitchen).

"They gave me a bill, I'm not going to show you and I paid for it."

Initially, Chloe sounded pretty p***ed by the whole thing, however, it didn't take her long to warm to the new look.

"I love it, thanks! Love mistakes," she said, noting that the old wooden worktops were replaced by high quality granite.

She told the Daily Star: "They put granite in my kitchen. So where I live, the homes are all 'cookie cutters', they're all the exact same layout.

"I was out grocery shopping and I don't lock my door. I live in a little town bordering Detroit, super safe."

Now, we know what you're probably thinking, was this blunder and last year's gardening incident connected?

Well, apparently two completely different companies were involved.

"Like I said, I do not know if this is going to be concrete or a deck. It's a complete surprise because they're at the wrong house, right?" she said.

"So if you know what this is going to be - it's all stone - let me know."

A similar incident also took place last year when builders were getting to work in Chloe's garden.

Chloe said at the time of last year's mistake: "They're at the wrong house but I'm not going to stop them because I'd love to have free concrete - or a deck, whatever they're building."

We know what you're thinking, both mistakes seem incredibly unlikely and many TikTokers have accused Chloe of faking the videos, especially when a very dubiously acted video appeared to show the moment Chloe told the builders about their mistake in the first video.

Commenting on the kitchen video, one user wrote: "All granite counter tops are custom cut to the cabinets they rest on. This could never happen."

Another said: "The only mistake was thinking that people would believe this."
