Think back to the summer of 2015.
Jason Derulo and Fetty Wap were topping the charts, Jeremy Clarkson was punching TV producers, Queen Elizabeth II became Britain's longest-reigning monarch, and 'the dress' went viral online.
You know, the frock that left social media users tearing their hair out for several days, with some Facebook users saying it was 'black and blue' and others seeing it as 'white and gold'?
The fiasco saw the Roman Originals dress become an online phenomenon, revealing differences that humans bear with regards to their colour perception. It even became the pinnacle of a number of vision science experiments and investigations.

Well, it turns out there's a new mind-boggling garment in town.
A Primark top has sparked a similarly fiery debate online this week, with viewers claiming to see it in a number of different colours.

Taking to Reddit, the receiver of the £9 top claimed they'd ordered it from second-hand retailer Vinted, believing it to be a medley of blues, greens and paisley-style patterns.

"Ordered what I thought was a top of purple/blue shades," they wrote online. "But received pink instead. Seller said it was due to lighting in the photo."
The buyer then shared an image of the crop-top that actually arrived through the post, which was very clearly an assortment of pinks, oranges and yellows - basically, an entirely different colour palette.
"Why can't people take accurate photos?" they questioned.
As was the case with the blue/black or white/gold dress, with the completely contrasting snaps causing quite the stir online at the time.

"Wow, it looks completely different," one noted.
Another added: "Yeah I don't even understand how a top that pink could possibly look blue/purple.
"It's the blue and black dress."

Naturally, it didn't take too long for a plethora of internet experts to attempt to offer explanations on the mystery.
"I’m going to assume that maybe she has a blue curtain or blind. It’s a total catfish," one wrote in the comments.
Another agreed: "I think you can see the reflection of the curtains in the hanger on the right."
"It's the white balance," a third suggested instead. "Poor show from the seller but also you could have seen the label, which is meant to be white, is blue. You could then have adjusted the white balance to see what the top would actually look like.

"Shouldn't have to, but it's clear the pic isn't accurate."
They added: "Or could have asked them to take a photo in natural light before purchasing, based on the blue label."
A fourth went on: "Came to say the same thing- the white balance is totally off , you can see the paper label looks blue. She should have seen that and retaken the photo."
"I have this issue when i take pictures of some things and it drives me crazy," added another. "In my case its the iPhone doing automatic colour adjustments and nothing i can do.
"This sometimes results in things looking completely different colours!"
