Many of us struggle with dry or dehydrated skin all year round but it can become particularly frustrating when you start to bare your arms, legs and shoulders in the warmer weather.

However, thankfully shoppers have discovered a hi-tech body cleanser which has been designed to smooth and nourish dry skin. So, of course we had to check it out.

Priced at £38 for 300ml, the Wildsmith Skin Purity Exfoliating Body Cleanser has a number of impressive ingredients tasked with improving uneven skin texture and overall skin dryness. But how does it work? And can it actually keep dry skin at bay? Keep reading to find out everything you need to know.

The body cleanser has received rave reviews.

What ingredients does it include?

Now, you might have heard of the terms AHAs and BHAs before but if you haven’t, they essentially stand for alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids, respectively. Just don’t let the word acid scare you or put you off.

These impressive acids work together to deliver a gentle chemical exfoliation, with many experts arguing that chemical exfoliants are more successful and less abrasive on the skin compared to traditional physical body scrubs. So, it might be time to make the switch to a chemical exfoliant as part of your shower routine.

This particular body cleanser has one BHA, salicylic acid, which can help to remove dead skin cells while decreasing redness and inflammation. Two AHAs, glycolic and lactic acid, also work to promote cell turnover, revealing smooth refined skin beneath.

The product is particularly impressive on the legs and arms.

So, if you tend to experience back acne, little bumps on your upper arms and legs (also known as keratosis pilaris), or the occasional blemishes on your neck or shoulders, these ingredients are particularly beneficial.

A gel-to-foam consistency allows you to lather the product up nicely, while the addition of fennel, grapefruit and juniper essential oils add a spa-like feel to the showering experience.

For those of us with different skin concerns and conditions, the brand also have two other body cleansers, a nourishing option with hyaluronic acid and chamomile to calm and hydrate the skin, as well as a brightening variety with vitamin C and black pepper which could be a great choice for dull skin and boosting circulation more generally.

There are two other body cleansers in the new range.

What are customers saying?

Despite only launching a few weeks ago, the product already has a number of five-star reviews on their website.

One happy shopper shared: “I really liked this product, it was easy to use non-greasy and my skin felt really smooth, silky and fresh.”

While another admitted: “This product has made my skin more softer and look more radiant.”

The Wildsmith Skin Purity Exfoliating Body Cleanser is available exclusively from the brand’s website.
