If you’ve ever struggled with persistent acne, breakouts or blemishes, you'll already know there's no shortage of 'miracle' products and ‘wonder’ ingredients flooding the market.

But have you ever considered slathering your face with vinegar? Well, you might want to after hearing about this cult product...

The toner is suitable for several different skin types but works particularly well on acne or blemish prone skin.

Priced at just £7 for 50ml travel size (or £25 for 200ml), the Gallinée Face Vinegar toner has hundreds of five-star reviews from happy customers.

But does it live up the hype? Let’s find out.

What ingredients does it include?

As you might expect from a vinegar skincare product, its main ingredient is the acidic stuff; and not just any old vinegar but hibiscus apple cider vinegar.

This natural remedy is known for its exfoliating and soothing properties, which help aid skin turnover to slough off dead skin cells and uncover soft and smooth skin underneath.

Another exfoliating ingredient that is included in the toner is lactic acid, one of the most effective and gentlest of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs).

It uses a slow-release formula that the brand promises will "suit even the most sensitive skin,” allowing it to exfoliate without causing any further irritation or redness.

It works to exfoliate and soothe the skin.

The toner also contains a number of prebiotics, which “feed your skin’s good bacteria and help support the skin’s barrier,” while, at the same time, they have “antibacterial action targeting the “bad” bacteria that can cause skin inflammation,” according to Gallinée.

And a lack of certain ingredients is just as important in the case of this product. The Face Vinegar doesn’t include soap – which can strip sensitive or acne-prone skin – or any silicones, colourants and microbeads.

There are two different sizes to choose from and one is ideal for travel.

What are customers saying?

One happy customer took to the Cult Beauty website to say: “This product works so well, I’ve had far fewer breakouts since using this, whatever is in it was what my face needed!”

While another added: “Don't be put off by the fact that it's a vinegar! I almost didn't try it because I have sensitive rosacea skin but this product is gentle and perfect to use everyday.”

And if you struggle with body acne, one shopper tried it elsewhere on their body and saw impressive results. They shared: “Very happy with this toner. Started out only using on my face to balance after cleansing, but have added to my body care routine to my troublesome acne areas. I have had acne on my butt and back of thighs for my entire adult life and this is contributing to my backside glow up. I transferred it into a small travel spray bottle and mist over face, neck and backside after cleansing.”
