A woman who dumped her boyfriend was left dumbfounded when he began dating a family member - I know, you couldn't make this up.

Kylie Putzy, from Wisconsin, admitted she thought she would never see her ex ever again after they split - but you guessed it, there was a major plot twist when he fell for someone else.

Watch video below:

The trio appeared to see the funny side of things and took to TikTok to share the hilarity of their situation.

Captioning the clip, which has been viewed over 600,000 times, Kylie wrote: "It's funny you can laugh".

In the video, Kylie is seen looking at the camera with "breaks up w my boyfriend thinking I'll never see him again" written over her head.

Kylie then illustrated the shock twist by featuring her ex in the next frame walking towards the camera.

Although they saw hilarity in their situation, some commentors on TikTok did not and claimed their relative would be "dead" to them if they did that.

“Haha I dated a guy when I was 15 broke up with him and he is now dating my sister and they're having a baby I’m now 29,” another revealed.

In other dating news, one woman revealed the lucky escape she had when she matched with a man who was described as a "walking red flag."

After their date fell through, TikTok creator Carlie Hammond pointed out a number of major red flags in the conversation with her match, complaining that she has the "worst luck in dating."
