Single woman opens up about why she doesn't want to live with a man

She said she's done it twice before, but it's not for her

A single woman has opened up about why she doesn't want to live with a man. Watch her explain her reasoning here:

Ceci Bendita took to TikTok to explain why she's done living with men, and it seems what she had to say resonated with a lot of people, as her video went viral, racking up more than 428,000 likes.

In the clip, she said: "Today a woman who was a lot older than me was talking to me about how beautiful it is to live in companionship with a man, and how much she loves it - as if I had never lived with a man before.

"I've lived with two of my boyfriends, and I told her that both of the times that I lived with my boyfriends I became their mum, and that's just not a hot vibe.

"It really kills the love, the sex, the intimacy. Like, that dynamic? No."

She continued: "Anyway, so I was asking her, 'What would it look like if I were to live with a man where I wasn't picking up after him? I wasn't telling him what to do around the house, and we could just be equals?'

"And she was like, 'Well, no, that's just the way it is to live with a man,' and I was like, 'So why would I do it again?'."

It's a fair point, I suppose.

Ceci hasn't ruled out living with a guy again, though, but she would expect them to treat her the same way she would treat them.

She added: "I love to live alone. And it would take a man who brings a lot to my life and makes my life easier for me to live with a man again, because when men live with me, their lives are so much easier. I handle a lot of things for them.

"So I would want a dude that handles things for me."

In the comments, a lot of people could relate to her point of view - though some pointed out that not all men are the same.

One person commented: "It's exhausting to be the mother, the therapist, the problem solver, the masseuse, the friend, and the lover… My cup needs filling too!"

Another said: "'you'll be single forever then' as if that's worse than having to raise a grown man."

A third added: "We all deserve reciprocity. We both need to help the other make their life easier. That's when it works best. Those men DO exist."
