Your wedding day is the happiest day of your life, or so it’s meant to be, but that doesn’t mean it always goes off without a hitch.

There are a lot of things that can go wrong, and now one make-up artist has shared the mistake almost every bride is making. Watch here:

Minxies Beauty explained that when brides make this common mistake, it can have a seriously detrimental effect on their pictures.

As per the Sun, Minxies Beauty has 12 years of experience, so the chances are that she’s someone whose advice is worth heeding.

But she’s explained that her top tip has got nothing to do with a bride’s make-up and everything to do with her dress.

She said in a now-viral TikTok: “I feel like I keep repeating myself over and over again about this subject.”

The make-up artist then explained that the biggest mistake that brides can make is putting on their dress too late.

“Please get into your dress earlier than half an hour before,” she said, before citing the example of a bride slowed down by the 300 buttons on her dress.

She said it makes life a lot harder for wedding photographers when brides aren't in their dresses in plenty of time.

It can lead to rushed photographs, which is the last thing anyone wants on their big day.

Reacting to the tip, one TikTok user wrote: “I had never considered this before but I am ABSOLUTELY taking this on board. great advice.”

A second added: “This is so true. I've photographed a few weddings and nothing worse than stressed out, sweaty people in photos trying to get a dress on!”

A third wrote: “Never even considered this before. Thank you for this. I’ve just forwarded to my maid of honour so she can remind me.”

A fourth lamented: “I wish I had of known this I never even got photos with my bridesmaids.”

A fifth wrote: “Oh my gosh so glad this has made my fyp, hadn’t even considered this and get married next year, thank you.”

A sixth added: “Today on ‘advice I didn’t know I needed’! I never even thought of this! Thank you.”

The make-up artist’s tip comes after a bride went viral over her decision to throw her best friend out of her wedding over her outfit choice.

She explained on Reddit's 'Am I the A**hole' forum that she asked her best friend Andy to leave when she also turned up in a wedding dress.

The bride wrote: “She talked about how back in high school she used to joke all the time about how she'd wear white to my wedding, and how I used to laugh about that. So, this was supposed to be a fun ‘inside joke’.”

The bride unsurprisingly didn't find it funny that her best friend was in a wedding dress, and she asked her to leave.

However, this did not go down well with the bride's best friend, who later said she was only thrown out as she looked slimmer in her dress than the bride.

But Reddit users completely agreed that the bride did the right thing by asking her to leave.

One wrote: “She wanted to upstage you. That comment about you being jealous that she looked slimmer in her dress than you did speaks volumes.”

A second agreed, writing: “That isn't a friend. Block her. Move on. And I hope you had an amazing wedding and even more happiness to come.”
