A Yorkshire woman has explained how she ended up falling in love with an American prisoner and revealed she plans to visit him soon.
In a TikTok clip captioned: “He is my person,” the woman, who goes by the name galwiththetats, revealed she started writing to a random inmate using the website Write A Prisoner, and things quickly heated up.
@galwiththetats - whose real name is Katie - said she went on the website telling herself she ‘wouldn’t get attached’, but ended up ‘clicking with a guy’ named Jaime who she started exchanging messages ‘back and forth with for weeks’.

Sharing a screengrab of the ‘hundreds’ of messages they’d exchanged, Katie explained that they’d already started ‘making plans’ for when Jaime is free.
Katie told her followers that she even found ‘sexy pictures’ of Jaime after Googling his name, adding that he’d also sent her some ‘even sexier’ ones.
Eventually, Jaime started calling Katie and she decided to apply via Washington State’s Department of Corrections to be accepted onto the visitor list.
In a later video, Katie revealed she’d been approved for visitations in a clip captioned: “It’s about time.”
Her followers were quick to share their excitement for Katie, with one person replying: “Ahhh so happy and excited for you! Keep us updated,” beneath her post.
Another person added: “Congratulations!” while a third said: “Get your man, girl!”
Other comments included: “Omg finally! Congrats hun”, “So happy for you love,” and “I am sooooo happy for you girl.”
Katie has also shared a series of videos called: “The things I wish I had known before falling in love with an American inmate.”
She lists things like: “How many people get triggered over a relationship they’re not in”, “First class recorded delivery to the US is extortionate” and “You’ll end up with 101 American phone numbers before you find the right app” as stuff she wishes she’d been given a heads up about.
In another video, titled: “He’s a criminal, how can you say he’s the one for you?” Katie writes that her boyfriend ‘calls her at every chance he gets’ and that they ‘spend hours laughing about silly things’.
She also told her followers that Jaime ‘makes her feel like a queen’ and ‘compliments her 4,000 times a day’.
“We just click. There’s nobody else I’d rather wait for,” the TikToker added.
Once again, Katie’s followers were quick to leave her supportive messages, with one saying: “Stuff what people say it’s whatever makes you happy and I stand by that these days."
While another pointed out: “You look great together. I'm really happy for you, f**k the haters.”
