The Bake Off host has quite the youthful complexion

We're more than used to seeing our fair share of shocking moments ion The Great British Bake Off (honestly, we're still reeling from 2014's Baked Alaska-gate) but viewers were genuinely left open-mouthed at last night's episode.

This week's helping of the cookery competition saw our last remaining bakers tackle Eighties Week, which resulted in some difficult (and kitschy) looking bakes.

As always, hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas were left to serve up the banter between each round, with the cheeky pair making several references to the Eighties.

After performing a frivolous dance to 80s kids show Emu's All Live Pink Windmill, Fielding said that the bakers had to be "over 45 to get it".

And fans were left shocked that, after a quick Google, Fielding is 47-years-old, making The Mighty Boosh comedian a whole year older than co-host Lucas.

Taking to Twitter, many were left aghast at the news.

"Yes, Noel Fielding's a vampire, but seriously how the hell is that man 47?" queried one fan.

"Noel is 47?! Am I the only one who is in shock at this revelation?" a second chimed in.

A third added: "I actually had to Google that to double check!"

You may also be shocked to hear that at just 47, Fielding is just seven years younger than old Blue Eyes himself, Mr. Paul Hollywood.

Fielding needs to drop his youthful skincare routine ASAP.

The Bake Off tent's novel Eighties Week episode saw our remaining bakers tackle retro bakes, with the signature challenge seeing the contestants give quiches a crack.

The always tricky technical saw our bakers struggle with six custard and jam finger donuts, while our showstopper bake was Ice Cream Cake.

Hermine rose to the occasion and took home the coveted Star Baker prize for her Holiday Ice Cream Cake.

Meanwhile, viewers' favourite Lottie crashed out the competition after struggling in the technical.
