One dad was left horrified after sharing the eyewatering cost of a family trip to Disneyland.

The man, Mario Zelaya, took to TikTok to share his experiences with the pricey holiday and offered a handful of tips for any other parents out there looking to do the same.

The video, which has since clocked up over 220k views, has since sparked a heated discussion about Disneyland's pricing and whether or not it's actually worth it. Check it out:

Mario admitted he made a 'huge mistake' by taking his family to the famed themed park.

He said: "I made a huge mistake, I went to Disneyland in Paris. I'm almost embarrassed at how much money I spent.

"Just the tickets alone, that's $1,200. Why the hell would I do that?"

The dad went on to explain to his followers that the cost of each ticket was $120 but, because he and his family upgraded to premier passes at the park, it ended up being an extra $173 per person.

The premier passes allow Disneyland guests to skip the line and join the fast lane instead of queuing up for each ride.

He went on: "It's crazy how overflowing Disney is. It doesn't matter if it's in Paris, Orlando, or California, it's like this all the time," he said while showing a video of the line for a 'crappy ride' with certain wait times lasting up to 'an hour and 15 minutes'.

"Here’s the Disney rules," Mario captioned the TikTok.

The first rule was to 'expect crazy long wait times' with the second being: "If you don't want to wait in line, expect a huge bill to upgrade to a Premier Pass."

The final rule outlined: "If you decide to wait in line instead because the Premier pass doesn't cover ALL the rides, expect a huge bill regardless."

Hundreds have since flocked into the comments section to share their similar experiences with one TikTok user hitting out: "Yeah, I never understood the hype!"

A second recalled: "My family went once and that was enough for us....it cost us about 5000 for a family of 5 & it wasn't worth it."

"Nah I waited five hours to ride the Hulk one time," revealed a third.

"So true," chimed in a fourth, "waiting an entire two hours for a lame five-minute ride."

Another added: "We arrived at Disney in Paris, saw the line at the entrance, turned around and went somewhere else."

Others, however, thought completely of their Disneyland experience with one person writing: "Going to Disney when I was a kid is a memory I will never forget. Best vacation ever."

"I was there last summer and in spent a tonne with all the upgrades and was very happy with my choices," penned a final TikTok user.

"We had a great time and I would do it again."
