Urgent warning issued to anyone who has a Tesco Clubcard

There is a whopping £18 million worth of Clubcard vouchers at stake...

Tesco Clubcard holders - this one's for you.

Whether it's your local lunch spot to pick up a quick meal deal, or it's where you go to do the big weekly food shop, the major UK retailer has just issued a pretty important warning about the expiry date of its vouchers.

Now, as of this year, there are over 22 million active households in the UK that have a Tesco Clubcard, with the app also boasting a whopping 12.7 million users.

Whether it's attached to your house keys, downloaded on your phone, or tucked away in your wallet, Clubcards allow those looking to save a couple quid to receive major discounts and accumulate points they can later redeem for store vouchers.

However, the supermarket has issued a warning to Clubcard holders as a whopping load of vouchers are soon 'due to expire'.

So, you'll want to act fast if you've been saving up a stash of them, as £18 million worth of the vouchers are set to expire at the end of this month (30 November).

Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert site explains that the Clubcard vouchers are only valid for two years from the date they were issued.

This means that, if you have any vouchers issued before November 2022, then they won't be good to use after midnight on the last day of this month.

So, if you're not sure as to when yours expire and you've still got them in paper format, check the date on the voucher itself.

If you've lost your paper vouchers, or are unsure if you had any in the first place, you can check on the Tesco Clubcard site or app.

To check online, simply go to the official Tesco Clubcard website, select 'Clubcard account' and then 'Vouchers' - bear in mind you need to be registered for a Tesco.com account and must know your Clubcard number, which is printed on Clubcards and Clubcard key fobs.

You should then be able to see a table listing your available vouchers and their expiry dates.

And if you're checking on the app, simply open it up before clicking on 'Clubcard' and then to the 'Vouchers' section, where you'll find the expiry date.

Top tip: you don't have to only spend your vouchers at Tesco - you can actually double their value by spending them at Tesco's Reward partners.

Such companies include Disney+, Legoland, and Pizza Express.

So, while 500 points are usually worth £5 to spend at Tesco - you can exchange your vouchers for codes to use with a Reward Partner, meaning 500 points would actually be worth £10.

Not bad in the run-up to Christmas!
