Queen Camilla has come under fire for asking Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones a 'rude' question during a visit to South Wales for her husband King Charles III's birthday.
The royal couple attended a reception at Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr Tydfil to celebrate the King's 77th birthday, which was on Friday (14 November).
The event was attended by Welsh celebrities and TV personalities, including Ruth, Love Island star Liam Reardon, fashion designer Julien Macdonald, and TikTok creator Lewis Leigh.
Representatives from the King and Queen’s patronages and local businesses, including Coco’s Coffee and Candles and Enaid Wellness, also attended the community reception.

The guests sang happy birthday to the King before he cut his cake, a replica of Cyfarthfa Castle made with vanilla sponge, jam and buttercream.
But one moment that sparked backlash is when Camilla greeted Welsh actress and comedian Ruth. Take a look:
Ruth has played the iconic role of Nessa in Gavin and Stacey for a whopping 17 years, and to most of us, her face is instantly recognisable.
However, Camilla seemed to be confused for a moment, despite having met the actress before.
The Queen appeared to ask: "Haven’t you lost masses of weight?" as she shook her hand and introduced herself in the reception line.
Ruth seemed taken aback for a minute before she responded: "Yes, I have, thank you! I’ve lost a bit of weight."
The star has openly spoken about her 'lifelong' weight journey after losing 4.5 stone in just 22 months.
And although Ruth herself seemed completely fine with the comment, it sparked quite the reaction on social media, with people deeming it an inappropriate thing to ask someone.
One Instagram user commented on the video: "How rude. Can you imagine our Queen Elizabeth asking such a personal question."
Shocked, a second asked: "Is that OK to ask really??" and a third chimed in with: "‘Masses’ she wasn’t huge!"

A fourth penned: "Why would you even ask that question its so rude. Honestly and she's the queen God help us all. She isn't my Queen, bring in William and Kate now please before she completely ruined the monarchy."
Someone else brutally wrote: "How embarrassing Camilla! Of all the things to say to Ruth you reduce it to weight. Shameful."
However, someone else pointed out: "A lot of hate on her. The woman seemed delighted she had noticed."
And another royal fan agreed: "'And thank you for noticing, Camila.' Two ladies who know each other & keeping it real instead of shallow prattle about the weather."
Tyla has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
