A heartwarming video of Princes William and George has recently been doing the rounds online, following the father-son duo's joint appearance at the Champions League quarter-final last night.

The sweet social media clip has sparked mass debate, with some viewers claiming to have spotted a striking similarity between the youngster and other member of the British monarchy.

For those who haven't yet caught wind of the pair's public appearance, 42-year-old William brought his and wife Kate Middleton's eldest son George, 11, to watch their favourite football team Aston Villa take on Paris St-Germain during the first leg of the quarter-final.

The duo were also joined by William's childhood friend Thomas van Straubenzee in the Parc des Princes on Wednesday (9 Apr).

Though Villa sadly lost 3-1, a clip of he and George celebrating their single point has since gone viral online.

In the video, William could be seen throwing his fists in the air in celebration of Morgan Rogers' goal, before pulling George - who was seen wearing a purple Villa scarf - in for a close embrace.

As we say, however, some viewers of the video believe they've picked up on a resemblance between the schoolboy and another Royal Family member - William's mother Diana, who died in August 1997 following a car crash whilst in Paris when he was 15.

"This is too cute!! Aww," one viewer of the video gushed on X (formerly Twitter). "Also Prince George looking a lot like his grandma Princess Diana, even the mannerism."

Another agreed: "George looks a lot like Diana here."

"George looks very much like PDiana there," a third added.

Others, meanwhile, noted how refreshing it is to see a Royal duo letting loose in public.

"I love this! This is where Prince William can really cut loose and blow off steam," one commended the pair for their reaction.

With a laughing emoji, another continued: "George be like 'dad stop plss'."

"Love that passionate response by both of them, but especially William! It’s so nice to see!" wrote a third.

Another continued: "This is just a dad loving the moment him and his son’s team scored in a big match. Beautiful to see."

One also penned: "Omg the look of pure joy!!!!! Love it!!"

The future King often brings fellow football fan George along for grand tournaments.

They were famously spotted side-by-side in the Royal box at Berlin's Olympiastadion last summer, where they witnessed England's devastating defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

When it comes to local teams, however, the father-son pair are die-hard Villa fans, with William having been taken to the midlands team's matches by family friends as a child himself.
