Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have set the record straight once and for all amid rumours around their son, Prince Archie, going to a very famous school across the pond.

As the royal children grow up, with a few now at high school age, people are keen to see what their parents end up doing in terms of schooling.

Now, despite only being six years old, there have already been reports circling that Meghan and Harry are planning to send little Archie to school in the UK, specifically at Eton College, which is the same institution Harry and his older brother Prince William attended and charges a staggering £21,099.60 per half-term.

However, a rep for the Sussexes has since come forward to put all the speculation to bed.

"I can confirm that the Duke has not put his son’s name down for Eton and has no plans to send his son there," the spokesperson told PEOPLE on Wednesday (24 September).

The clarification follows a Daily Beast report that surfaced over the weekend, alleging that Harry had enrolled Archie at Eton, the prestigious boarding school where 12-year-old Prince George is expected to start next year.

Meanwhile, a separate Daily Mail report suggested that Harry had spoken with a friend about his interest in having his children educated in the UK.

Following George's 12th birthday back in July, royal fans were keen on finding out which secondary school William and Kate Middleton would send their eldest child to.

Now, we're sure the pair will have already figured out such a decision behind closed doors, but they are yet to release a statement to the public confirming where George will spend the next chapter of his education.

According to GB News, the reason behind this is apparently down to public reaction.

The outlet reports that 'Kensington Palace has delayed its announcement of where George will attend secondary school due to the upheaval it could cause'.

And, given the Royal Family's long history of attending Eton and its experience in the necessary security measures, experts still reckon Eton will end up being the most likely option - but not every royal expert agrees.

"One of the things that the Royal Family have got to really take into consideration is the security arrangements," states Melanie Sanderson, managing editor of The Good Schools Guide, via The i Paper.

She added: "One of the reasons that I think he will go to Eton [is because] they are well versed there in educating senior royals."
