The couple had reportedly planned to visit to launch the countdown for Harry's Invictus Games in Birmingham, and it would have marked their first trip to these shores in over four years.
It would be Princess Lilibet's first visit to her father's home country since 2022, having been born and raised in Montecito, California.

He has reportedly hired a private security company, who uncovered six terrorist plots against him, with five originating within the United Kingdom.

That's according to a secretive document produced by the firm, first seen by ITV News and GB News.
The private firm submitted the document to Ravec, the committee which is responsible for allocating state-funded protection for senior royals and politicians.
It was reported last week that the UK Government has rejected the couple's request for taxpayer-funded police protection.
An insider said they were left 'distraught' by the rejection, as they feared that the children would be 'chased by paparazzi wherever they go from the moment they step off the plane'.
Among the terrifying threats detailed in the file is an al-Qaeda document calling for Prince Harry to be assassinated.A
According to ITV, the private firm carried out a risk assessment back in February, and it uncovered 'at least six plots against the Duke from jihadist and right-wing threat actors that have targeted other high-profile Britons'.
The firm ranked 'the highest priority threat' as coming from 'stochastic terrorism (also known as grassroots or lone actor terrorism)'.

GB News reports that the Metropolitan Police is aware of almost 500 potential stalkers targeting the Royal Family, with at least half of those having threatened the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children,
The couple's private firm is also allegedly monitoring at least 28 different people who have demonstrated 'dangerous stalking behaviour' towards the family.
They said the risk faced by the Sussexes is 'elevated' in the UK 'where a majority of the most serious threats have originated'.
It is reported that the al-Qaeda threat was found on a Telegram server, calling for 'followers living in the West to kill air force personnel who had operated in Afghanistan, or are supporting Israel, and that have killed Muslims'.
Prince Harry's name appeared due to his due to his two tours of duty with the British Army in Afghanistan during 2007 and 2008.
