Buckingham Palace denies Prince Harry’s claims about recent trip

Earlier this month, Prince Harry embarked on a two-day visit to Toronto to meet veterans ahead of Remembrance Sunday

It seems there's been a bit of a mix-up between Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family surrounding his latest trip to Canada.

For those who need a reminder, earlier this month the Duke of Sussex, 41, headed to Canada to attend Remembrance Day events with a number of charities and meet veterans.

He marked Armistice Day in Toronto while most of the other royals took part in the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.

However, the timing of the trip raised some eyebrows as Harry first stepped out in Canada on November 5, which was the same day as his brother Prince William’s Earthshot Prize ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.

According to The Times, Harry's office said 'the Palace' had been informed about the trip in advance 'as a courtesy,' but allegedly, no one at Buckingham Palace actually got the memo, which has sparked some confusion over what really went down.

The publication claims that one source said it was 'a bit rum' to claim the Palace had been informed when nobody at either Buckingham Palace or Kensington Palace had got any advance notice of the trip before it was released to the world through the press.

Allegedly, when Harry's office were pressed for more details, including when they gave the 'courtesy' warning and to whom, there was no reply.

According to PEOPLE, earlier this year, the Duke of Sussex reportedly offered to share his official schedule with the royal family for full transparency and to help avoid conflicts between Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's public outings and those of the royals.

But this time, it would seem that somewhere along the line, wires have been crossed.

Harry and Meghan were also spotted attending Kris Jenner's star-studded 70th birthday party at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos' Beverly Hills mansion - however, pictures of them were later deleted from social media posts about the event shared by Kim Kardashian and Kris.

Royal fans will know that Meghan, 43, lived in Toronto while filming the legal drama Suits, and she and Harry spent time together there during the early stages of their relationship.

The royal pair moved to Los Angeles in 2020, after initially setting up home in Canada, and live in Montecito with their children Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

As we know, Harry's relationship with the royals has been strained for quite some time now following a series of allegations in his memoir, Spare.

After leaving the UK and making a new home in the States, the couple went on to cite alleged mistreatment of Meghan by several members of the monarchy.

In a bombshell memoir, several shocking TV interviews and a Netflix documentary, they recalled instances of alleged bullying, claiming a number of them had been initiated by William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

However, in more recent times, things could be changing for the better as Harry reunited with his dad, King Charles III for the first time in 19 months in September, as he met him for afternoon tea at Clarence House.

It marked the first time the father and son had seen each other since February 2024, when he travelled to the UK to see the King after his cancer diagnosis.
