The Princess of Wales reportedly has some big decisions to make in the coming days as her eldest son, Prince George, approaches his 12th birthday on 22 July.
And apparently, one of these high-stakes conversations that Kate Middleton will be forced to undergo with husband Prince William in the near future centres on whether or not to separate the youngster from his family.
Already, there's been talk of a different, long-standing royal practice coming into play soon, which would prevent George from travelling from either his parents or his younger siblings.
This tradition is supposedly aimed at helping him prepare for the throne in case he's forced to take it on earlier than expected, being that officials can never be too certain when a future king has to step up to the plate.

From his 12th birthday, George will likely have to fly alone when attending official engagements, as two members in succession (in this case, his father William, and 10-year-old sister Charlotte) must be kept apart in case of worst case scenarios, like plane crashes. This way, at least one heir to the throne will be protected at all times, in order to keep the monarchy stable.
Such was also the case for William when he came of age, a practice that prevented him from flying with his father, King Charles III, or his younger brother, Prince Harry.
However, there's another decision that Kate and William, 43, will have to make in the coming weeks that could see George being isolated from his parents and siblings - whether or not to send him to boarding school.

According to several news outlets, the princess is fighting against the idea of shipping her eldest off to a super-fancy establishment in the countryside, hoping for George to attend a school close to them in London.
William, meanwhile, is said to hope his son will follow in his footsteps and enrol at Eton College, where he and brother Harry were educated in the 90s.
The countdown is officially on for the decision to be made, given that school will start for George in September of next year.

A royal insider told the National Examiner: "I think Kate is really sad because she doesn’t want him to go away.
"She’s very nervous, and she wants to spend more time with him."
Kate is also said to have concerns when it comes to her son being negatively impacted by modern day media.
"In this day and age of social media, she is concerned about George’s privacy," the source continued. "And since he’ll be away at school, she won’t have eyes on him.

"That will most likely tear her apart inside to know that she’s not there to protect him."
