The creator of Suits revealed that Meghan Markle 'always' has an 'open invitation', as the producer spoke on the red carpet for the show's spinoff premiere.

Meghan Markle left her iconic role of Suits' Rachel Zane in 2018, ahead of marrying Prince Harry and joining the Royal Family.

In their first joint interview as a couple, Meghan spoke about her exit from the show, describing it as 'a new chapter'.

She said: "I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter, right?

"And also, keep in mind, I’ve been working on [Suits] for seven years. We were very, very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series."

Speaking about her role as a working royal, prior to the pair stepping down in 2020, Meghan added: "I’ve ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to work with [Harry] as a team.

"I think what’s been really exciting as we talk about the transition out of my career and into my role is the causes that are really important to me that I can focus even more energy on."

Suits recently premiered the spinoff version of the show, Suits LA, but the producer hinted that he would be happy for Meghan to return to her iconic role.

Speaking on the red carpet, the creator Aaron Korsh said: "So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor.

"I think for me that's a little ... My brain blows up at the thought of that.

"So I think it blows up the world too much."

But he didn't completely hate the idea, as he added: "Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back."

He was then asked if the invitation is always open, to which he resounded: "Of course. Of course. Always. But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that. Yeah."

But the idea of Meghan making a return to acting might not be as impossible as people think, as she is set to release a new Netflix series on 4 March - With Love, Meghan.

She will be joined by a number of celebrity guests on the show, sharing her cooking, gardening, and hosting advice.
