It seems as though Meghan Markle is called out for an awful lot on social media, and her most recent mistake was surrounding her use of lunch boxes. Yes - really.

The Duchess of Sussex made her most recent appearance at this weekend's (8 February) Invictus Games - launched by her husband, Prince Harry, in 2014.

The couple put on an affectionate display during the event, portraying a very loved-up image to people watching at home and in the crowds.

The opening ceremony was held at Vancouver's BC Place Stadium, and over 500 competitors watched on as the pair interlocked hands and shared kisses while holding each other's face.

The mum-of-two gushed as she introduced her husband onto the stage, before he gave his opening speech to the crowds.

It seems as though Meghan was praising Harry for getting involved in the 'morning rush' before the children go to school.

She said: "We're getting ready for school, packing lunch boxes, making breakfasts, and my husband is in all of that."

But she was quickly called out on social media, after questioning the use of lunch boxes just days earlier in an Instagram video.

After sourcing some Billie Eilish merchandise for a girl who had lost her house during the LA fires, Meghan questioned the use of lunch boxes in a clip she posted for fans.

She said: "Is that a thing? A lunch box thing?

"I don't know this is when I feel really old."

Joining the dots, one person on X said: "It’s fun to watch Meghan Markle contradict herself in just a couple of days.

"From I don’t get lunchboxes and they make me feel old to getting the kids out the door with their lunchboxes. Consistency is not Meghan’s thing."

But some actually came to the Duchess' defence, because after all, it really is just a lunch box.

One noted: "In her defense, I think she was talking about old school metal lunch boxes - are they still a thing?

"Can’t stand her, but trying to be fair."

Another said: "Yes I’ve been seeing the lunchbox joke everywhere too. I thought it was obvious she meant the tin ones being a thing still."
