New revelations have emerged over the whole Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton bridesmaid dress fiasco, claiming there is one key part that reports at the time 'got wrong'.
It may have been seven years since Meghan Markle walked down the aisle of St George's Chapel, but one of the lasting legacies of the big royal wedding has ended up being the apparent drama it ignited between Meghan and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
Reports emerged at the time claiming that there has been some kind of disagreement between the women over a bridesmaid dress for Kate's daughter, Princess Charlotte, and this was later confirmed by Meghan and Prince Harry themselves during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

The infamous spat was also addressed in Harry's book Spare, where he revealed text exchanges between the pair, rebuking claims that Meghan made Kate cry and insisted it was in fact the other way around.
He recalled Kate contacting Meghan just four days before the wedding to say that the 'French Couture' dresses needed remaking, claiming Kate became frustrated because Meghan didn't get back to her immediately.

"Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away," said Harry. "Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by.

"This wasn't sufficient," he added.
Harry says that Kate later complained: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home."
To which Meghan apparently replied: "Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?"
However, Kate reportedly disagreed, saying: "No, all the dresses need to be remade."

Harry wrote: "Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!"
To which Meghan snapped back: "Yes, Kate, I know... "
Harry recalled Meghan telling Kate: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day," to which Kate replied: "Fine."
After returning home to the aftermath of the disagreement, Harry says he found Meghan in tears 'sobbing on the floor'. Meanwhile, the following day, Kate apparently came round with a bouquet of flowers and a card to apologise for the misunderstanding.

However, a royal staffer has come forward was new claims about what really went down, throwing the royal clash back into the spotlight once again.

It's all part of a newly-released biography by Tom Quinn titledYes, Ma'am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants, with the staffer claiming there was one key detail the press got wrong about it at the time.
"I can tell you that all the papers and commentators got this wrong, the truth is that as with many of these spats between sisters, brothers or even sisters-in-law, both sides were really upset," the staffer reportedly said.

This is in reference to Meghan and Harry denying reports that it was Kate who was left in tears, and that it was actually her who made Meghan cry.
The staffer continued: "The truth is that during the discussions about the bridesmaid's dress, Meghan said a few things she regretted and Kate said a few things she later regretted, but it was all in the heat of the moment.
"Both women were crying their eyes out!"
But one of the people who had a hand in making the dresses had a different point of view on the whole thing.

When Harry released his book detailing the alleged texts, Ajay Mirpui, the luxury tailor who worked on bridesmaids' dresses at the centre of the argument, spoke to Daily Mail claiming to know nothing of any upset.
"If anything happened in the background, it didn't happen in front of me. But yes, weddings are stressful at the best of times — and especially one at this high level; you've got to respect that," they said.
"They were faced with a problem like anyone gets at a wedding, with last-minute hitches. I can understand why anybody would be upset if the dresses weren't fitting — it's nerve-wracking."
