Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Sr. has been accused of hoarding child sex abuse images, and travelling to Asia to commit crimes against children, per a surfaced letter.
Meghan, who has been estranged from her dad since before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 – the same year the alleged letter is dated - issued a statement following the accusations.
The Duchess of Sussex said the claims against her dad left her 'deeply distressed', after it was reported her brother, Thomas Markle Jr, alleged that their 82-year-old dad stored abuse images in an area that housed family 'mementos'.

The Sun reported the images were found at his former home in the Philippines, which Thomas Sr has since called 'sick lies' per the Daily Mail.

In a statement reported by The Sun and later issued to the Press Association, Meghan said in part: “I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed.
“In 2018, a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me.
“It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father and I was given assurances that these were being investigated."
Now, more information which was apparently contained within the letter, has been revealed.
As reported by Page Six, the author of the letter claimed that Thomas Sr. had admitted going to the Philippines and Thailand, specifically to abuse children.
Per The Sun, the letter was sent to a specialist Met Police protection unit and addressed to the Met’s Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC).
Thomas Sr. Has denied all allegations against him, and told the Daily Mail from a rehab centre in Florida, where he has been since his left leg was amputated last December: "I'm shocked, I'm hurt and I'm very upset that my son is making these accusations against me. I could never do what I'm being accused of. It's the worst thing anyone could accuse me of.
"This is bulls****. It's just a bunch of lies. It's sick. I have no idea why Tom is trying to destroy me with these lies."

However, his son, Thomas Jr told The Sun of what he allegedly found at his father's home which led him to report him to the police: “When I found this material I was horrified and I had no option but to report my dad.
“I have supported, cared for him and helped him for years - but that stops now. I won’t speak to my father ever again unless I’m called to give evidence against him.”
LADbible Group contacted Meghan Markle's representatives for comment, as well as London's Metropolitan Police Service.
Further to the allegations, per the Press Association, it is understood the Metropolitan Police has not and is not currently investigating Thomas Markle Sr., and officers are carrying out an internal inquiry to confirm Meghan was given a 2018 letter which made 'troubling and disturbing allegations' against her father.
