The Royal Family aren't strangers to having a bizarre rule enforced upon them regarding the way they live their lives.

And this week, it is apparently the turn of King Charles himself to be exposed for his Royal rule-breaking.

In the last seven days alone, followers of the monarchy's antics were blown away to discover that Prince George would soon be prevented from travelling with any of his immediate family due to a unique lineage-saving tradition.

And, spectators were further shocked to learn that there's actually another expectation forced onto the Royal children, which says that they must make as much mess as humanly possible.

I know, who knew?!

As we say, however, it is the head of the institution who has found himself the subject of our latest Royal expose, after followers of the family caught wind of some controversial rule-breaking.

It turns out that, amongst some of the weirdest and most wonderful obligations that have been forced upon them by their advisors, is a rule limiting the types of food that are consumed by members of the family.

And apparently, in particular, this rule applies to shellfish, which are often linked to food poisoning, an allergy or simply an uneasy stomach.

Therefore, if consumed by a Royal and it doesn't go down too well, not only will this impact any official duties they've been appointed, but could also pose a pretty big risk to their health.

"When dining, the Royal Family has to be careful with shellfish due to shellfish poisoning, due to their work schedules," Grant Harrold, a former Royal butler, told the Express.

"It is a very sensible move to abandon having seafood when out and about on public duties. We don't want a member of the Royal Family having a serious reaction to food poisoning. Especially if [they] are on an overseas tour.

"Therefore you will not normally find this on the royal menu."

Like many other Royal rules, however, it has recently been found that King Charles is prone to breaking them.

In fact, back in 2013 - in a snap which has since done the rounds on social media - the father-of-two could be seen helping himself to an oyster, whilst he and Camilla attended the annual Whitstable Oyster Festival.

In the photographs, The King could be seen enjoying the popular - and often rather messy - shellfish directly from its shell, before going on for another, seemingly to relish every moment at the foodie festivities.
