Kate Middleton’s outfit in new photo with Prince William leaves royal fans in disbelief

Fans of the Royal Family have been left stunned by Kate Middleton's outfit for a state banquet.

Senior members of the royal family hosted US President Donald Trump at a state banquet during the president's second state visit to the UK.

Having a second state visit is unprecedented for a US president, with most only having one.

The Prince and Princess of Wales took to social media ahead of the dinner, with their official account posting a picture of the pair in their official attire for the evening.

And many people were left gobsmacked by Kate's dress.

The picture was posted with the caption "Ready for The State Banquet."

Kate was wearing an off-white floor length gown with a sheer layer featuring intricate gold embroidery covering her neck, shoulders, and arms and reaching to the floor where the hem blossomed into a stunning design.

This was accompanied by a tiara, as well as a royal blue sash over the princess' shoulder, and three brooches.

Fans were stunned by the outfit, and took to the comments to share their thoughts.

One wrote: "This dress is AMAZING I’m actually crying with happy tears about how beautiful this couple is!!!"

"Holy smokes! Y’all are stunning and that dress is gorgeous!!" said another.

Others drew attention to both William and Kate, though still mainly focussed on the princess.

"WOW! There aren't enough words to describe how gorgeous you both are," said one, adding: "Thank you so much for sharing this stunning portrait with us."

A second wrote: "Princess Catherine: you are beyond beautiful and elegant. Prince William is looking dapper too, but what a lucky guy."

"Striking beauty! What a classy couple," commented another.

For his part, William wore formal white tie dress featuring a black jacket with red trim on the collar and cuffs, as well as black trousers and shoes.

The prince also wore a blue sash in a paler shade than that of his wife's.

During the banquet Trump paid tribute to William and Kate, with his mention of Charles only raising 'one son' being taken by some as a jab at Prince Harry.

Trump was also criticised for his comments about Kate during his speech, as many people thought that he had crossed the line in calling her 'so radiant and so healthy, so beautiful'.

Most of Trump's second state visit will take place at private events as protestors make their displeasure at Trump's presence in the UK known.
