Prince William shares health update on Kate Middleton amid cancer treatment

The Princess of Wales hasn't yet made a public appearance since her cancer announcement in April

The Prince of Wales has today shared an update on his wife Kate Middleton's cancer treatment, and thankfully, it's good news all round.

The world was blindsided last month when the mother-of-three shared the news of her diagnosis in an emotional statement last month, following mass speculation over her well-being.

The Princess, 42, thanked the public for their concern over her health, explaining that after her successful major abdominal surgery, 'tests after the operation found cancer had been present'.

"My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment," she said.

"This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

"As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.

"But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok."

In the weeks since her shock announcement, numerous members of the Royal Family have offered their condolences and pledged their support to the Wales'.

Buckingham Palace said in a subsequent statement: "His Majesty is ‘so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did’."

The message continued: "Both Their Majesties ‘will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time’."

Kate's brother James Middleton also shared a snap of the siblings on Instagram, writing: "Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too."

Even the Sussexes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, released a short statement - despite their rumoured fall-out with the couple: "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."

Today, however, having remained rather tight-lipped on the matter, Prince William has given an update on his wife's health.

Catching up with bystanders during a visit to James’ Place in Newcastle, the 41-year-old told two women donning Union Jacks flags: "We're all doing well, thank you."

And when one of the women pressed, "And obviously Catherine?", William affirmed with another short and sweet statement: "We're all doing well."

This is the news we all needed to hear!
