Lip reader ‘reveals’ what Donald Trump asked Prince William after breaking royal ‘protocol’ within minutes of UK visit

A lip reader has claimed to reveal the six words that Donald Trump said to Prince William, moments after he was accused of breaking royal 'protocol'.

The POTUS, 79, and his wife Melania Trump, 55, are in the middle of the first full day of their second UK state visit, after they touched down at London Stansted Airport yesterday (16 September).

Today (17 September), the American couple arrived on the grounds of Windsor Castle via helicopter and were met by Prince William and Kate Middleton, who then escorted them to greet King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

However, the arrival didn't exactly stick to the timings the British royals had in mind, with Trump landing on the Windsor estate gardens at 12:14pm - nearly 20 minutes later than expected.

Trump and Melania had been due to meet the Prince and Princess of Wales at 11:55am, however, the Marine One helicopter only began hovering over the garden at around 12:10pm.

It went on to land at 12:14pm, with Trump stepping out at 12:15pm, slightly pushing back the time schedule.

He then greeted William and Kate by shaking their hands, however, those watching on have had things to say about both interactions.

When the US president took the princess' hand, social media users think he appeared to momentarily try to pull her towards him - whether it was purposeful or not.

And then when it came to shaking hands with William, he lifted up his other hand to playfully tap him on the shoulder.

This small action could be considered a 'breach' as guests are meant only to shake hands or bow to royals.

After analysing the footage, lip reader Nicola Hickling revealed to the Express what Trump allegedly asked William as he greeted him.

He reportedly asked: "Hello, my friend, how are ya?"

The expert also claimed that when he spoke to Princess Kate, Trump said: "Hello, this is a relief."

The last time Trump visited the UK on a state visit was during his first term in 2019, when the late Queen Elizabeth II was on the throne.

This time around, there are no public engagements planned for the POTUS, however, he will be meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer tomorrow (18 September) at his country residence, Chequers.

The pair are reportedly set to have lunch together before hosting a joint press conference, while Melania will remain at Windsor Castle, where Camilla will give her a tour of Queen Mary’s doll’s house and the royal library, reports The Guardian.

The Queen will then travel over the Chequers to reunite with her husband and fly back to the United States.

While the royal events have been going on, there have also been a series of protests in the country, who oppose the American president's visit.
