United States Donald Trump said that he and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi 'fell deeply in love' in an unusual admission.

The Republican leader, who turned 80 over the weekend (14 June), has been attending the G7 Summit at Evian-le-Bains in France this week, participating in several meetings with fellow world leaders.

One of which was with El-Sisi, who was asked by a reporter about Egypt's 'border security', earlier today (17 June). The question prompted Trump to recall an anecdote of when he and El-Sisi first met in a hotel room before falling 'deeply in love'.

"Of course, I support Egypt. He's a friend of mine," Trump began before taking the opportunity to launch into a scathing attack against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate who ran against the president back in 2016. Take a look at the exchange here:

He continued: "From day one, you know, I met him early in the campaign when Crooked Hillary and I were running against each other, right, and I was told that the President of Egypt is here.

"That was a big deal. It's still a big deal for me to be with the great President of Egypt, but not as big as it used to be before I ran."

Trump went on: "So, he was in a hotel, and I met him. And we fell in love, deeply in love.

"And he didn't even want to see Hillary. He said, 'You're going to win. I don't want to meet her'. Said, 'You're gonna win'.

"He didn't want to see her, remember that? So we had a good relationship right from the beginning.

"No, we met. We didn't know each other before that. We had great chemistry. And I stayed twice as long as I was supposed to. Took up her time. And then when it was her time, he didn't want to meet with her.

"But he did because he's a gentleman, but it lasted about one minute."

Trump's latest G7 update came earlier today on Truth Social.

"I will be doing a Press Conference in 45 minutes from France. I’ll then be heading to Versailles for Dinner with French and other European Leaders, and then back home tonight!" he wrote.

"The trip was a Great Success but, mostly what people wanted to talk about, is the fact that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon, and that the Strait of Hormuz will immediately be opened! Great Numbers in all categories for the United States Economy with more people working today than have ever worked before."

Trump added: "Over 19.1 Trillion being invested in the U.S.A. with Factories and everything else happening but, importantly, recent Stock Market numbers are through the roof because of the settlement and, likewise, Oil Prices are tumbling down! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
