The army sergeant who danced with Melania Trump during Donald Trump's inaugural Commander-in-Chief ball has revealed what she whispered to him.

Sergeant Henry Waller could be seen dancing with Melania, while Trump briefly partnered up with Sergeant Tatiana Saldana from the United States Space Force.

The Trumps were also joined by the vice-presidential couple, JD and Usha Vance, who also both shared a dance with members of the military, the Marine Corps and Navy respectively.

Waller has since opened up about the experience, which took place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center earlier this week on Monday (20 January).

In an interview with Inside Edition, Waller recounted what took place during the occasion.

"I walked out on stage. I was trying to contain my composure, but we were told that it's not like ceremonial composure. We can smile if you want to," he began.

The sergeant continued: "I was just overwhelmed with joy being out on the stage where all these people are cheering for me.

When asked if the First Lady, who was smiling during the dance, said anything to him, Waller continued: "I asked her how her night was going. She said it was going good. She asked me how mine was.

"I said, 'It was fantastic'."

Waller was also asked if Melania was a 'good dancer', to which he responded: "Oh, yeah, she's a really good dancer," before noting that the 'only rehearsing' he did for the dance was 'back home with [his] wife'.

During the ball, Melania opted for a strapless white floor-length gown with featured a geometric black trim and a small slit paired with white heels and a thick, black choker.

The garment in question was reportedly designed by Melania's longtime style advisor, Hervé Pierre, who also made her first inaugural gown.

An, it didn't take long for hawk-eyed viewers to make the comparison between the design on Melania's dress and Trump's sharpie signature following the executive orders signings.

One X user penned: "Does Melania's dress bear a striking resemblance to Trump's signature on all those EO's today or is it just my imagination?"

"The first thing I thought of when I saw Melania's dress was that it looked like Trump's signature," wrote a second, while a third echoed: "Melania's dress - specifically the black ribbon reminds me of the Don's signature swoosh. I wonder if that was part of the intent. Especially with his historic first day of EO's."

Another added: "Melania's 'scribble' dress, reminds me of Trump's signature."

And a final X user declared: "Melania’s dress design was inspired by Trump’s sharpie signature. You can not convince me otherwise."
