Outraged citizens of America have today accused Ivanka Trump of 'turning a blind eye' to the current political violence unfolding in Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, her father - the President of the United States, Donald Trump - deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to the West Coast city, where a number of protests broke out on Friday (6 Jun) in response to one of his most aggressive new immigration policies.

For those in need of a reminder, the 78-year-old recently set up a goal for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials of at least 3,000 arrests per day as part of his vow to launch the 'biggest deportation operation' in US history.

In doing so, he ordered ICE to carry out raids in areas with prominent Latino populations by entering establishments such as workplaces, shops, and hospitality venues to find individuals who had allegedly overstayed their visa limit.

Naturally, the move sparked outcry, with thousands of LA locals taking to the streets to campaign against the policy last week.

Responding himself, Trump subsequently ordered another 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to tackle any protestors - a decision which has sparked major backlash from California leaders, amongst other high-profile politicians.

In particular, the state's governor Gavin Newsom criticised Trump for the move, explaining that he cannot legally call in the National Guard to a state without permission from the Governor of that state, as well as poking fun at him with a Taylor Swift TikTok.

One individual who has remained silent on the Republican's controversial readiness for warfare is his eldest daughter, Ivanka.

Worlds away from the political battle unfolding in Los Angeles, the businesswoman and former advisor is seemingly enjoying some time in the sun, taking to Instagram to share a series of surfing snaps.

Opting not to disclose the location of her vacation, 43-year-old Ivanka also refused to address the situation on the West Coast.

"There’s no place I feel more free, more grounded, and more at peace than in the ocean," she wrote in the caption. "It restores, it humbles, and it inspires. Today, on #worldoceansday let’s celebrate this blue heart of our planet."

Ivanka's latest upload hasn't gone down too well with many US citizens, who have slammed the First Daughter for ignoring the high-profile political position she's been granted.

"My father is bringing our country to the brink of Civil War, I'm going surfing! Lol!" one jibed in the comments.

Another demanded: "Why don’t you humble your dad and tell him to call off troops in Los Angeles," while a third hit out: "Tone deaf as per usual. Not surprising."

"How can you be so happy while others is in pain how sad....." questioned another.

Another joked: "Ivanka Antoinette. While America burns, she surfs."

And a fifth added: "Whilst your father is literally breaking America apart."

Tyla contacted Ivanka Trump for comment.
