North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has selected his teenage daughter as his heir - and everyone is saying the same thing.
As reported by the BBC, South Korea's spy agency told lawmakers on Thursday (12 January) that Kim Ju Ae, who is believed to be 13-years-old, is close to being designated as the country’s future leader as he moves to extend the family dynasty to a fourth generation.
It comes as recent months have seen the teen pictured beside her dad at high-profile events, such as a visit to Beijing in September.
The assessment by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) comes just as North Korea is preparing to hold its biggest political conference later this month, where Kim Jong Un is expected to outline his major policy goals for the next five years and take steps to tighten his authoritarian grip.

As per PA Media, in a closed-door briefing, NIS officials said they are closely monitoring whether Kim Jong Un's daughter appears with him before thousands of delegates at the upcoming Workers’ Party Congress, said MP Lee Seong Kweun, who attended the meeting.

He reportedly said: "As Kim Ju Ae has shown her presence at various events, including the founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army and her visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, and signs have been detected of her voicing her opinion on certain state policies, the NIS believes she has now entered the stage of being designated as successor."
If she does get named as his heir, it will make history as the first time a female leader has ruled the East Asian country.
This has prompted people to make the same point - that it would mean North Korea would beat the USA to having a female leader - although of course, it's understood that there's a huge difference between a President and a North Korean Supreme Leader.
Reacting to the news, one X user penned: "North Korea getting a female supreme leader before the US gets a female president is crazy."
While a second added: "Dictatorial North Korea about to have a female leader before 300 year old "Democratic" America"

And a third pointed out: "North Korea getting a female supreme leader before the US gets a female president is crazy."
"The concept of North Korea having a female president before the USA is so funny," wrote a fifth.
While a sixth chimed in with: "Looks to me like Kim is more liberal than Americans. I mean they wouldn't allow a female president."
"Wow… if true, that’s historic. North Korea could see a generational shift earlier than expected and all eyes will be on how she handles power," added a seventh.
And an eighth agreed: "If she takes power, she would be North Korea’s first female leader, breaking decades of patriarchal tradition."
