JD Vance's leaked text message from the infamous Signal group chat has got everyone saying the same thing.

If you have no idea what we're talking about, back in March, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth shared confidential details of Yemen strike plans in a Signal group text chat which a journalist had accidentally been added to.

The journalist in question was Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, who reported on the incident in the publication.

The group chat leak, which has since been dubbed Signalgate, occurred just weeks into US President Donald Trump's second term.

The shocking incident raised questions about the administration's national security practices, as well as compliance with laws governing classified information.

And now, after an investigation, the Pentagon’s watchdog has reportedly found that Hegseth put American troops and their mission at risk when he used the Signal messaging app to convey sensitive information about the military strike in Yemen, as reported by PA Media.

The chat itself showed Hegseth discussing specific targets and timings for attacks, as well as the types of weapons that would be used, as per the BBC.

And now, investigators have revealed that US Vice President JD Vance returned to the chat, seemingly to make light of the situation, after the leak happened.

The explosive piece was published in The Atlantic on 24 March and the day after at 2.26am, Vance quipped: "This chat's kind of dead. Anything going on?"

Understandably, no-one replied and people were instead too busy changing their names on the group and probably doing damage control.

And the internet is finding it hilarious that the Vice President was 'aired'.

One Twitter user joked: "Lmaoooo they had a side chat without him."

While a second added: "The group chat without JD Vance must’ve been ctfu after that lmaoooo."

And someone else questioned: "They left him on read?" alongside a slew of laughing emojis.

"No one responded lol," someone else pointed out, meanwhile another social media user agreed: "Me when I text on group chats and nobody replies."

Someone else joked: "JD Vance’s Rizz is so low that there’s another group chat in the gov without him."

And another chimed in with: "JD Vance doesn’t know there’s another group chat so his friends can make plans without him."

While someone else raged: "The sheer irony of the Vice President sending 'This chat's kind of dead. Anything going on?' in a classified chat about a war is peak 2025. National security is being handled like a boring group project on Signal."

Others added: "The entire Trump administration is deeply unserious" and "Me in the GC not knowing there’s a better GC dedicated to talking s*** about me."

And someone else joked: "Let's make a new group chat and not tell JD Vance."
