Ivanka Trump has revealed the three-word reason why she won't join her father Donald Trump’s administration when he returns to the White House next week.

43-year-old Ivanka, born Ivana Marie Trump, is the eldest daughter of President-elect Trump, 78, and his first wife of the same name.

During her famous dad’s first term in office, she served as his Director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship and as an unofficial yet trusted advisor.

It was speculated that the former Apprentice star could make a return to politics when Trump is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States next week.

However, she has now denied the rumours. Instead, she claims her family is her priority and that she simply ‘hates politics’.

Appearing on a recent episode of The Skinny Confidential’s Him & Her Show, Ivanka stated: “I love policy and impact. I hate politics. And unfortunately, the two are not separable.

After describing politics as a ‘very dark, negative business’, the mother-of-three continued: “There is a darkness to that world that I don’t really want to welcome into mine.

“The main reason I am not going back to serve now is I know the cost, and it’s a price that I’m not willing to make my kids bear.”

Trump’s daughter confessed that while she ‘did love the impact’ of working in the White House between 2017 and 2021, she now wants to prioritise her family.

“I went through years of craziness, and I’ve never become cynical about I think the fundamental goodness of people,” she said.

“Hopefully I’ll live a life that continues to be impactful, regardless of where I do it.”

Despite deciding not to return to the White House, Ivanka has confirmed she will still ‘show up’ for her father when he makes his return to office on 20 January.

“I think I’m most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter and be there for him to take his mind off things, to watch a movie with him, or watch a sports game,” she explained to podcast hosts Lauryn and Michael Bosstick.

“To know that he can be with me and be himself and just relax and for me to be able to provide that for him in a very loving way as his daughter.”

Ivanka’s refusal to return to Washington DC comes just days after her step-mother Melania Trump, 54, announced where she would reside during the next four years.

The incoming First Lady told Fox & Friends on Monday (13 January) that she ‘will be in the White House’.

“And, you know, when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York,” she continued.

“When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. But my first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife. And once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country.”

When asked whether she and Trump’s 18-year-old son Barron would travel to visit them during study breaks from New York University, she said: “I think he will come and visit, yes.”

Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on 20 January, officially marking him as Joe Biden’s successor.

American Idol star Carrie Underwood and The Village People are posed to perform at the inauguration in Washington DC.
