Donald Trump pulled out all of the stops for his multi-million dollar military parade at the weekend, including more than 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, 50 aircrafts, and even a handful of robot dogs.

The celebration took place on Saturday (14 June), and was to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States’ armed forces.

Not only that, coincidentally the event also fell on the American president’s 79th birthday.

But, even with all of the fanfare and parade, people have pointed out that there was one thing, or one person, missing.

And no, I know what you’re thinking, it’s not Melania - The First Lady was by his side for the whole day, even when he appeared to be dozing off.

The Republican leader was also joined by other members of his administration and military leaders for the parade, which reportedly cost a whopping $45 million, according to Reuters.

So, who was it that was missing?

Social media users have hilariously pointed out that Trump’s former right hand man, Elon Musk, was nowhere to be seen, which came as a surprise to absolutely nobody since their overly dramatic falling out.

But even so, the theory has been circulating that Musk's absence could be the reason Trump looked a little downcast at points during the big day.

Someone kicked off the theory with a TikTok showing clips of Trump looking sad at the parade, before cutting to previous videos of him having a good time with his former pal.

Of course, the video was accompanied by the song ‘party 4 u’ by Charli XCX, which includes the very convenient lyrics: “Only threw this party for you, I was hopin' you would come through.”

They joked in the caption: “This part feels like when you blow $45m on your birthday party and only 10k people show up but none of them are him.”

And those in the comments were left feeling sorry for the US president, writing: “I hate being empathetic, why do I feel bad for him”, and, “Stop, why’s this made me feel bad for him”.

Another joked: “He’s been listening to the tarot ladies thinking he’d be back.”

For those not up to speed on the Trump vs Musk fiasco, the pair were getting on more than swimmingly while the tech billionaire was in a temporary Government role for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

But, it all went sour quite quickly after his departure, with accusations and insults flying around left, right, and centre, after Musk stood down from his role in the White House and returned to his electric-vehicle endeavour, Tesla.

Following his resignation, he began publicly criticising the President’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, branding it as a 'disgusting abomination', after noting that it will increase the 'already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion'.

Meanwhile, Trump wrote on Truth Social about the 'truth' of Musk’s departure: "Elon was 'wearing thin', I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!"

And believe it or not, these are just some examples of the non-stop bickering that’s been going on between the US President and world’s richest man.
