As part of his latest attempt to leave a mark on America's history, Donald Trump has announced plans to make a subtle change to some US passports that'll make him centre-stage.
From 4 July, passport applicants based in Washington D.C. will have access to a designated number of new travel documents that'll feature a portrait of the Republican leader.
Only between 25,000 and 30,000 limited-release passports will be made available to residents from the city planning on leaving the country as part of a collection aimed at celebrating 250 years since America signed the Declaration of Independence.
D.C. residents will have the choice to receive a standard passport, but they'll have to apply online or outside of the district, officials have declared.
The controversial new passports won't feature the historical leaders who secured the nation's freedom from the British forces in 1776, however.
A limited number of special passports will be rolled out (Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images) It'll feature the US's current leader, who just so happens to be the first convicted felon to assume the position.
The move will make the 79-year-old the first living president to have his face featured within an official travel document.
State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott explained: "As the United States celebrates America’s 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited number of specially designed US passports to commemorate this historic occasion.
"These passports will feature customised artwork and enhanced imagery while maintaining the same security features that make the US passport the most secure document in the world."
Another insider added: "President Trump's new patriotic passport design provides yet another great way Americans can join in the spectacular celebrations for America's 250th birthday."
Trump's portrait will feature inside (CNN) "Between the UFC250 Fight, the Great American State Fair, Freedom250 Grand Prix, and this new passport celebrating our freedom, President Trump continues to proudly lead a renewal of national pride and patriotism during our historic semiquincentennial celebration."
Alongside Trump's portrait will be his signature, written in gold on an interior page.
The words 'United States of America' will also feature on the cover in bold, gold print, with 'Passport' written at the bottom. The back cover will feature a small gold laminate American flag, along with the number 250 encircled by stars.
Passports aren't the only items that Trump has placed a stamp upon - literally.
Since being sworn into the White House for a second stint last January, the right-wing leader has added - or attempted to add - his name and likeness to a number of historical and cultural landmarks.
Only D.C. residents will have access (CNN) His image has also been included on a gold commemorative coin rolled out earlier this year, to celebrate the country's founding, and his name was added to the US Institute of Peace building and the Kennedy Centre.
More recently, members of his administration have pushed to have the father-of-five's signature added to US dollar bills, which, if approved, will mark another world first.
