Despite Donald Trump being heckled by political protestors following his appearance at a Washington D.C. restaurant last night (9 Sept), a number of left-leaning voters remain disheartened.

For those out of the loop with the headline-hitting confrontation, the US President was joined by a number of government officials - including VP JD Vance, Secretary of State, Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth for a bite to eat in the capital, landing upon Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab.

Upon his initial arrival at the venue' outside doors, Trump was rebuked by a horde of protestors, several of whom chanted 'free Palestine', referencing the Republican's refusal to intervene in Israel's ongoing genocide attempt in Gaza.

Several members of the same group - later identified as left-leaning activists from Code Pink - had also made their way into the restaurant, and greeted Trump and co. with chants that likened him to Adolf Hitler.

"Free D.C., free Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time," a number of women yelled, before the protestors were removed from the building.

"Come on, let's go," the 79-year-old gestures towards them, as they're led away by members of the secret service.

Whilst the group have largely been commended for their efforts in shaming the right-wing politician, a second set of footage has been doing the rounds online hears some Republican onlookers outside of the restaurant attempting to drown out the insults with cheers of their own.

The applause was especially heard as Trump answered questions from reporters about his decision to deploy the National Guard into the capital in replacement of its police force recently in a bid to tackle an alleged 'crime emergency', as per The Guardian.

He professed: "We'll be announcing another city that we're going to very shortly. We're working it out.

"This was one of the most unsafe cities in the country. Now, it's as safe as there is in the country, so we're here with cabinet ministers having dinner, and everybody should go out."

He reportedly continued: "We’re standing right in the middle of DC, which as you know about, over the last year, was a very unsafe place – over the last 20 years – and now it’s got virtually no crime."

The cheers he received from some right-leaning listeners was also said to have resembled the reception he received inside of the restaurant.

The Guardian also reports that some diners joined could be heard shunning the protestors in the diner itself, or chanting: "U-S-A! U-S-A!"

Reacting to this reality, one social media user wrote in the comments of Courier Newsroom's footage: "You know what’s even more disturbing? The people cheering for him."

Another added of Trump's welcome: "Boos not loud enough for my liking…".

"I hear cheering more than I hear booing and this is the part he heard," a third claimed.

One also agreed: "I hear too many woos and not enough boos."

"People need to learn how to boo properly," another demanded.

"This level of boos is not up to my standards," one more went on.
