The White House has unveiled Donald Trump’s brand new official portrait - and everyone is saying the same thing.

His snazzy new picture has replaced the previous portrait, which was taken just three days before his inauguration in January.

Taken, as usual, by chief White House photographer Daniel Torok, the snap is a close-up of the president leaning forward with a stern look on his face.

He donned his usual navy blue suit and red tie for the picture, with the American flag worn as a pin on his collar.

In a stark contrast to the previous two official portraits, Trump posed against a black background instead of the flag.

People are also pointing out that the lighting is a lot darker, which is intentionally or not, giving off more of an eerie vibe.

And there’s no sign of a smile this time, with the expression on Trump’s face seemingly getting more and more serious as time goes on.

The new snap has already been updated on the White House website and will soon replace all of the old photos that hang on the walls of federal buildings and offices.

Social media users have of course rushed to give their thoughts on the picture after spotting that they seem to be getting darker, both literally and metaphorically, each time.

One X user joked: “His mug only gets meaner”, with a second writing that ‘the void is consuming him’.

Someone else simply wrote: “It’s getting darker” alongside all three of Trump’s most recent portraits side by side.

Meanwhile, a fourth pointed out: “The evolution of Donald Trump's portraits over the years. The second term has a MUCH different vibe.”

“He not smiling anymore. Uh oh,” penned another concerned social media user.

Someone else added: “My god they just get worse,” with another reply reading: “This one looks a little dark and ominous to me personally.”

When Trump’s previous portrait was revealed at the beginning of the year, people pointed out an uncanny resemblance to another of his infamous headshots.

His his inaugural portrait was being compared to none other than his infamous mugshot, with some people thinking it was an intentional move.

One person questioned: "Is that the mug shot?"

Another noted: "His eyes are two different sizes."

A third puzzled user said: "You’re joking right? No way Trump is going with this!"

Trump seems to be pulling the exact same face that he did in the mugshot, with one eye slightly squinted, as he leans slightly forward.

Another user said: "If I were him I would have used the actual mug shot as the official photo. Ultimate gangster."
