The existence of a secret letter outlining instructions for JD Vance in the event of Donald Trump's death has been exposed.
According to Sebastian Gorka, the Deputy Assistant to the President, the long-rumoured note remains hidden within the Oval Office.
The document was reportedly penned in response to several attempts made on Trump's life since he first announced plans to run for the Presidency for a second time.
As a reminder, in July 2024, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired eight rounds from an AR-15-style rifle from the roof of a building close to an open-air campaign rally the Republican leader had been hosting near Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump, 79, sustained a wound in his upper right ear, while one audience member was killed and several others injured.

Weeks later, a man was arrested at Trump's Mar-a-Lago, Florida, estate, carrying an AK-47-style weapon in his hands.
A third assassination attempt unfolded just weeks ago at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, which saw an armed man, later identified as Cole Tomas Allen, rush a security checkpoint and exchange gunfire with law enforcement.
Gorka, 55, made an appearance on the Pod Force One podcast this week, where he told listeners: "There is a letter in the drawer in the Resolute Desk that is addressed to the vice president should something happen."
Of the importance of the note and its relevance to Vice President Vance, 41, the government official added: "Everybody wants recognition from this man. This is the most powerful individual we have seen since the likes of Eisenhower, right?

"This is a man everybody wants to be at the table with him, to have the state dinner, to have the recognition. The idea that you do something that undermines your recognition goes against what they wish to have."
According to the Economic Times, Trump penned his letter to Vance ahead of his recent trip to China, where he met with Xi Jinping to discuss the possibility of stabilising US-Chinese relations, de-escalating trade friction and addressing vital global security crises.
Apparently, the note will remain sealed inside the Resolute Desk unless an emergency breaks out.
Discussing this, Gorka insisted, however, that he was not concerned in a security sense about Trump's political summit in Asia.

He also praised Trump for having had the initiative to prepare for the worst, claiming the letter shows great strength in the face of enemy powers.
Weeks before launching his joint Israeli attack on Iran, Trump told NewsNation he'd already outlined 'very firm instructions' on what would happen if the Iranian government were to enact an assassination attempt.
Speaking on Katie Pavlich Tonight, he said: "Well, they shouldn’t be doing it, but I’ve left a notification. Anything ever happens, we’re going to blow the whole — the whole country’s going to get blown up."
"I have very firm instructions. Anything happens, they’re going to wipe them off the face of this earth."
In a February interview, he doubled down on his comments, insisting that the country should be 'obliterated'.

"Well, they haven't done that, and that would be a terrible thing for them to do, not because of me," Trump said. "If they did that, they would be obliterated.
"That would be the end. I've left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated - there won't be anything left."
