Mary L. Trump has savagely celebrated the US Supreme Court throwing out an appeal made by her uncle, Donald Trump, to review a sexual abuse and defamation case against him.
A jury ruled in 2023 that the President had sexually assaulted writer E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s, and later branded the incident a hoax on social media.
Carroll claimed Trump had attacked her in a department store dressing room in Manhattan. He later wrote online that the incident hadn't occurred, insisting the author, now 81, is 'not my type'.
She was subsequently awarded $5m (£3.6m) in damages by a New York jury at the time, despite Trump, 80, denying the allegations against him.

The Republican leader also accused the judge who oversaw the civil trial of having illegally allowed evidence to be presented that he knew would affect the view of the jury, citing a 2005 Access Hollywood tape that showed him discussing talking about groping and kissing women.

Trump previously appealed against the verdict, but the federal appeals court agreed a new trial wasn't necessary, having agreed with the jury's decision.
As a result, the father-of-five implored the highest court to step in, hoping to have Carroll's damages waived.
The Supreme Court confirmed this weekend, however, that they wouldn't be taking up Trump's appeal and would not be detailing any further information as to this decision, as is customary.
Roberta Kaplan, Carroll's attorney, responded to the ruling in an official statement, noting that it 'affirms once and for all the jury's unanimous verdict that President Donald J Trump sexually assaulted and defamed E Jean Carroll'.
She continued: "His multiple efforts to appeal that verdict have all failed and today's ruling ends his quest to avoid accountability for his actions."
Carroll's team aren't the only ones celebrating the decision, however.

Trump's niece, Mary L. Trump - the daughter of his brother, Fred Trump Jr - shared a message for her uncle on X, celebrating Carroll's win.
"At last! E. Jean Carroll just kicked Donald's ass once and for all," she wrote. "What a legend she is! Time to pay up, Donald."
The right-wing leader hasn't yet responded to the views of his psychologist, author, and political commentator niece, who has famously opposed his conservative beliefs for years.
He has, however, issued a fiery response to the Supreme Court's ruling, vowing to fight against the 'Weaponisation and Lawfare Case', which he says includes 'the ridiculous claim of Defamation, with all of my power and strength'.
Trump wrote on Truth Social: "This Case is really against the United States of America, and all it stands for, and should never be allowed to happen to another President, or Candidate to be."

"New York State created a Law, for an instant speck of time, going back many decades, in order to wrongfully 'nab' me. It was tailor-made, and this Injustice cannot be allowed to stand!"
