Imagine looking back at some cute pics you took and realising that a former President of the United States was strolling by.

Well, that's exactly what happened to Portia Moore when she took her two adorable children to snap some pics with the cherry blossom in front of the D.C. Tidal Basin and the Washington Monument.

She had hired photographer Brianna Inell to arrange a family photoshoot to make the most of the beautiful seasonal blooms—and who so happens to walk by but Barack Obama?

Brianna shared the cute pics of the kids with Obama strolling by with a funny caption on Instagram: "This is why you get to the tidal basin at sunrise on a weekday! You never know who you’re going to see!"

She continued: "Story time: So as somebody who shoots at the tidal basin every year, I’m used to a bunch of tourist walking in on my photos, and usually I just tell my clients not to worry about them because I can always just photoshop them out!

"I wasn’t paying attention since we all know how heard it is to photograph little ones sometimes! But when my clients’ grandparents first saw all the secret service police walking behind him, and then we asked them “Um…was that Obama who walked by???” and they said yeah it was!"

She soon scrolled through her pics to see if she caught any with him in, and to her delight, she did: "Me and my clients’ were like, how do we even continue our shoot now?!??

"After that we were contacted by the local news channels to do interviews about it! And I already can’t wait for next years cherry blossom season!"

Now the former President himself has responded on his Instagram Story, tagging mum Portia Moore's Instagram account.

He wrote: "Preston and Belle, I hope you enjoyed peak bloom! My bad for stepping into the shot."

Portia said it was her husband Damien who'd noticed Obama first, so he tried to tell her, but she was too busy by her son to see.

"After that shoot was done I pick Preston up and asked Damien 'what were you saying'? He goes 'that was President Obama who just walked by' and looks his direction," Moore said (via ABC News).

"I ran to the photographer and asked her if she got the picture. She scrolls through and BOOM there is it! The perfect shot!"

Obama had also shared his snaps of the cherry blossoms, too.

"It’s fun to be able to play tourist once in a while," he wrote. "The cherry blossoms were beautiful this morning!"
