Planning your little one’s birthday is always stressful, but watching their face light up as their friends arrive for an afternoon of fun is the ultimate pay off.

But for one doting mum, the day ended in disaster when not a single of her daughter’s 27 classmates showed up for the bash.

Opening up about the incident on TikTok, Breanna Strong revealed that she’d rented out a soft play area for the day and splashed out on pizza, cake and decorations.

The mum shared: “We invited 27 kids to Avery's third birthday party. Not a single one of her friends turned up.”

Little Avery could be seen sitting alone at a table in one part of the video, and in another, Breanna was seen throwing away a pizza box as the words: "Money and time wasted. Breaks my momma heart so bad,” flashed up on screen.

Breanna said she had wasted time and money on the party.

Breanna, who said she was ‘going home to snuggle her babies’, captioned the post: "I wish I was making this up."

She later clarified: “There was a planned event on Facebook. 7 families said they were coming and three changed their rsvp this morning and others didn’t show.”

She also confirmed that Avery wasn’t aware her friends hadn’t shown up, adding in the comment section: “She got everything she wanted. Pizza, frozen cake and jungle gym. She didn’t know any different rather than having fun. Just shattered my heart.”

Needless to say, many of Breanna’s followers were quick to share supportive comments below her post, with one person writing: “This is a rule at my house. If we are invited, we’re GOING! We have been the only one that shows up. So sad this happens I’m so sorry.”

Another added: “This happened to one of my daughters. Now I make sure we show up to everyone’s party we are invited to. I never want to see that pain for any child.”

A third TikToker penned: “I'm so sorry!!! she must have been heartbroken! Next time let us know we will show up and out for her!”

Breanna replied: "She got everything she wanted. Pizza, frozen cake and jungle gym. She didn’t know any different rather than having fun. Just shattered my heart."

Another parent replied to her post saying that they’d experienced something similar, explaining: “this happened to me on my 8th birthday too still haunts me and it happened to my son on his 1st birthday."
