Her mother, Priscilla Presley, called Lisa Marie the 'most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known'.

Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, has tragically died at the age of 54.

She was taken to hospital for treatment on January 12 after suffering a full cardiac arrest.

Priscilla issued a statement after the news became public.

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care," she said (via AP).

"Please keep her and our family in your prayers.

"We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”

However, she has since released a heartbreaking update that her only daughter has died.

Priscilla said: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known.

"We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Her death comes only a few days since she appeared at the 80th Golden Globes ceremony to support the cast of Elvis.

Lisa Marie and her mother were seen crying when star Austin Butler won the award for Best Actor.

Tributes have started to pour in for the 54-year-old.

American singer LeAnn Rimes tweeted: “Lisa Marie Presley… how heartbreaking. I hope she is at peace in her dad’s arms. my heart goes out to her family. too much grief in just a couple of years. #riplisamarie #LisaMariePresley."
