Georgina Rodriguez Confessed She Was 'Anxious' About Twins' Arrival

Georgina spoke about her pregnancy in an interview from January this year.

Georgina Rodriguez confessed she was both “excited and anxious” after finding out she was expecting twins last year.

The 28-year-old model and influencer and her partner, Manchester United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, announced the devastating loss of their baby boy after delivering twins on Monday.

In an interview with Hola to promote her Netflix reality series I Am Georgina in January, the influencer explained how the couple felt once they discovered they were having twins.

“The family is growing. I am very happy and wish they were born,” she told the magazine.

“We are so excited and anxious, with great desire and counting the days for them to be born.What a nice surprise I had when I found out I was pregnant”.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez have a daughter, Alana Martina, who was born in 2017. Ronaldo also has a son, Cristiano Jr, who was born in 2010. He is also the father of twins Eva and Mateo who were born in 2017.

The couple shared a joint statement on Monday confirming the death of their newborn, which read: "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.

"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you".

The couple received an outpouring of support from the public as well as Ronaldo's current and former clubs and team mates.

The Manchester United team commented on his post, writing: "Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time, @Cristiano".

While Real Madrid released a statement which read: "Real Madrid C. F., its president and board of directors are deeply saddened by the passing of one of the children that our dear Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodríguez, were expecting. Real Madrid shares in the family's pain and wishes to send them all of our warmth."
