Celebrities who were named in Epstein files' 'anti-Israel list'

Zayn Malik, Emma Thompson and Stevie Wonder were among the number of A-listers referenced in the 2014 email

As people continue to comb through the three million new documents on the Jeffrey Epstein case released by the US Justice Department last week, a controversial list of celebrities sent to the convicted paedophile has caught attention.

Millions of federal documents related to the heinous crimes of the late sex offender have been sporadically released since the November passing of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The latest - and, according to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, the 'final' - release was made on Friday (30 January).

Among the newly-released documents were images, videos, flight logs, government IDs, employment info and emails. A vast proportion of these either centred on, were sent to or from, or featured mentions of, several high-profile people.

The likes of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Sarah Ferguson, Lord Peter Mandelson, and Elon Musk made appearances, alongside Richard Branson, Steve Bannon, Norway's Crown Princess Mette Marit, Larry Summers, Bill Gates and Donald Trump.

One especially interesting email mentions several A-listers - a handful of TV and film stars and some musicians - dubbing them 'anti-Isreal'.

In the message - which appears to be a newsletter from conservative news agency the Jewish News Syndicate - One Direction alum Zayn Malik was grouped together alongside double Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson, Spanish film star Penelope Cruz, 25-time Grammy winner Stevie Wonder and Pink Floyd musician Roger Waters, amongst other big names.

The email was sent to Epstein back in 2014 - seven years after his first 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution, and five years before the media mogul took his own life in jail whilst awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

The stars mentioned supposedly had in common an 'anti-Israel' stance, in relation to the long-standing crisis in the Middle East, and encouraged readers to boycott brands they were tied to.

The email reads: "Singer Zayn Malik of the British band One Direction posted the hashtag #FreePalestine on his Twitter amid the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.

"Unlike singer Rihanna, who also posted the hashtag and then deleted it, Malik kept his post online, garnering nearly 200,000 retweets."

The newsletter accused stars of making 'false accusations' about Israel and 'justifying the actions of the terrorist group Hamas'.

Thompson, 66, was referenced for her boycott of a performance by the Israeli Habima Theatre at the Globe Theatre in London.

Her co-signing of a letter condemning Habima for its 'shameful record of involvement with illegal Israeli settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territory' (published by The Guardian), was also referenced in the article.

JNS News also called out 51-year-old Cruz and her actor husband Javier Bardem for their signing of an open letter denouncing Israel's Operation Protective Edge in Gaza as 'genocide'.

Wonder, meanwhile (real name Stevland Hardaway Morris), 75, was also condemned by the outlet for cancelling his 2012 appearance at a Friends of the Israel Defense Forces gala.

Waters was also slammed for his support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

"Waters featured a giant pigshaped balloon emblazoned with a Star of David in a 2013 concert, prompting accusations of anti-Semitism," the email read.

"He has also compared Israelis to Nazis."

Waters has always denied accusations of anti-Semitism.

JNS News' team also called out a number of other stars for their support of Palestine over Israel, including now-disgraced media star Russell Brand, and actors Danny Glover and Dustin Hoffman.
