Couple 'reunited forever' as man dies two weeks after fiancée

Kieran Naylor, 33, died on Boxing Day, two weeks after his fiancée, Rebecca Foster died as a result of a fire in their home.

A man has died two weeks after his fiancée was fatally injured in a fire at their home.

Kieran Naylor, 33, passed away on 26 December after sustaining serious injuries in the blaze on Delph Lane in Daresbury, Cheshire, on 12 December.

Kieran’s fiancee, Rebecca Foster, died the day after the fire.

His family have said he has now been ‘reunited forever’ with his sweetheart.

"Words cannot express how completely heartbroken and devastated we are to have lost Kieran. Our lives will never be the same,” a tribute from Kieran’s family said.

“Kieran really was the best son, brother and uncle that anyone could have wished for and he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known him. Kieran and Rebecca are now reunited forever and they will always be in our hearts."

The family also thanked those who tried to help the couple after the fire and requested privacy.

"We would like to thank everyone who tried to help Kieran and Rebecca following the fire and would ask that we are left to grieve in peace at this time,” they said.

A statement released by Rebecca’s family read: "Rebecca was a loving and caring daughter and our lives have been absolutely torn apart by her death.

"She and Kieran made the perfect couple, and the pair were planning to spend the rest of their lives together, but sadly they will never be able to fulfil their dreams."

Firefighters were called to the blaze at the couple’s home at around 12.43am on 12 December, Cheshire Live reports.

The house was ‘well alight on the ground floor’ when firefighter crews arrived and the couple were taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police believe the cause of the fire was accidental.

The fire service released a statement shortly after which read: "Two casualties have been rescued and taken to hospital.

"Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are fighting the fire with four hose reel jets. The fire also involves the roof of the property. The road has been closed by Cheshire Police while the incident is being dealt with."

The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious and is currently being investigated by Cheshire Constabulary.
